			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Endorsed by the NCTE, the eircom Junior Spider Awards were established as a parallel programme for students at primary and post primary school level.</p>
<p>The aim of these awards is:</p>
<p>* to independently and impartially recognise the success and innovation amongst existing internet users in schools and to encourage other students to commence using the web to further develop their education and technology skills.</p>
<p>* to provide a benchmark of excellence in schools and to encourage and promote best practice and internet safety awareness amongst students.</p>
<p>* to act as a catalyst for those students who wish to pursue a career in this sector by providing access to influential business executives.</p>
<p>The 1st place prize for primary students is a trophy and EUR200. The 1st place Post-primary winner receives a trophy and EUR300. All entries will receive a participants’ certificate including teachers. Prizes from sponsors will also be given to the winning schools.</p>
