Eight transition-year students recently received the pleasant news that they are eligible to receive a valuable scholarship to Germany this summer.
The students were selected by the Goethe Institute based on the exceptional results in the Junior Cert 2011.

Well done to all students and teachers who participated recently in the Cheerios Childline Breakfast fundraiser. A total of €682.60 was raised which will go directly towards supporting this worthy charity.
Junior Football team after winning the Leinster Junior A Title on Friday 27th January in Portarlington.
The team beat St. Marys Edenderry 4.13 to 3.6 aet.
Siobhra O Flaherty 1st year won player of the match.
The team will now play Coláste Dun Iascaigh Cahir, Tipperary in the All Ireland semi final during the week of 12th March.
The senior team take on Coláiste Iosagáin, Stillorgan in the Leinster Senior A Final on Tues 7th February @ 12. 30pm in Baltinglass. The team is captained by Jane Moore 6th year and are going for 7 in a row titles.
Subject choice is often regarded as an ordeal but if subject choice not researched carefully by students it may have serious consequences for entry requirements to further education.

St. Leo’s German Debating Team consisting of Lucyana Sinpetru, Poppy Ashmore, Stephanie Holmes and Sara Rennick won the third round of the German Debate against Newbridge College in Newbridge recently. It was a brilliant performance and a well-deserved result!

The Guidance Department are meeting all 3rd year students on an individual basis presently to inform them on the results of the Differential Aptitude Tests (DAT).
